After letting it sit, use your vacuum to remove the soda and gat to work with a mixture of a tsp of dawn dish soap, a TBS of white vinegar and two cups of warm water. Saturate the stain and using a clean, white cloth blot it to remove it. If the smell lingers, douse the area with baking soda and let it sit overnight before using the solution to repeat the cleaning process.
